While Yates receives an abundance of praise, some customers do note occasional wait times, particularly during peak hours on Friday evenings. This can be a small inconvenience, but it often speaks to the restaurant's popularity. A few patrons have mentioned wishing for more variety in the menu, although the existing offerings typically cover the essentials of a classic chippy. Some also prefer an even crispier chip experience, but this is often a matter of personal preference. Occasionally, certain specials may not be available, leading to disappointment for a few loyal customers. Despite these minor grievances, most leave satisfied, knowing the quality of food makes any wait worthwhile.

Came from Liverpool on a friends recommendation for the best chippy in Wigan and wasn’t disappointed.
